Are you excited for your kids to get back to school? I love fall because I am a schedule/routine person and love the routine school brings. Preparing for our school schedules I've been working on getting my kids back into the routine of chores. I want my kids to develop good cleaning habits and avoid the frustration when they don't know exactly how to clean a room. So I made a free how to printable on how to clean a few different rooms in the house!

Organizing the Pantry
February is my big organizing month! So sick of all the junk strewn all over my house. I am totally inspired by Sarah's 40 bags in 40 days throw away that she does every year. 40 seemed an overwhelming goal so I am doing 29 bags. A bag a day for the month of February. I started with my pantry. My whole kitchen is pretty much a disorganized mess. In fact I'm pretty sure it's never made an appearance on the blog! So come on in and see my newly clean pantry!

Organizing the Craft Room {Folding Fabric}
You ready to see where I keep all my crafting stuff? Finding a spot for all my treasures and glitter stash was the hardest part of the whole craft room creation. I even had to...gasp, get rid of some of it! I don't know about you but parting with one tiny scrap of fabric is SO hard for me. I even got rid of that half finished cross stitch from the 90's.
If you go a ENTIRE DECADE without finishing a project than it's safe to say that you are never going to finish it.It was hard but so worth it because now I know exactly where everything is and what I have. No more buying stuff again because I forgot I had it or can't find it.

Organizing Kids School Papers
It's January which means that it's time to start organizing. I am really trying to tackle the paperwork at my house. I'm terrible at paperwork and like to make paper piles. Then when I get too many piles and am having guests over I take the pile and slide it into a laundry basket and put it in a closet to deal with later. GASP! Shameful. Part of the reason my paper is a mess is because its not easy to file things because my file drawers are too full.
Then I found this fabulous idea on Pinterest from IHeartOrganizing to put your kids school papers in their own files. Oh Pinterest how you solve so many of my problems. Genius.
I bought 4 plastic file bins from Walmart. They were on an end cap and on sale. Which I still don't understand because they had some that looked almost exactly the same in a different display for like $10. They were really dusty and must have been last years colors or something. Along with my paper problem I have a container collecting problem. A horrible addiction. Luckily since these were so cheap my darling husband only rolled his eyes when I hunted him down in electronics with my cart full of bins.

Lego Minifig Storage {organizing}
Do you have lego storage problem? With three boys we have a zillion legos! My 6 year old is obsessed with the little lego minifigs and he likes to be able to see them at all times. No putting the little men in a storage bin in the closet.
So I hung them on his wall right as his level so he can play with them and the little guys can be decorations too! Yes someday I will finish his gallery wall and put pictures of people we know in the picture frames!

Now that Halloween is over I'm ready to start thinking about Thanksgiving...then after that Christmas! Can't skip Thanksgiving! I don't usually start Christmas shopping until after Thanksgiving but start cleaning up my house and throwing stuff away in November. Especially the toys, I purge the ones the kids don't play with and get some ideas of what stuff they may want. As part of organizing I thought I'd make some cute labels for the storage bins. The bins are part of the Trofast storage system from Ikea. They came unfinished and I primed and painted them.
The playroom is really colorful so I thought some paint chip labels would be perfect. With pictures and words so none of the kids have any excuses for not helping pick up!

Laundry room {Organizing ideas}
Today we're going on a little tour of my laundry room. I love to see how real people deal with what can be one of the messiest rooms of the house. Our laundry room is also our mud room and comes straight into the house from the garage. The clean laundry goes in heaping baskets in my bedroom so I can fold it while I watch TV.
