Waverly Lovely Lattice Living room drapes

So excited to have my living room drapes finally finished.  Such a tedious project but they turned out so great!  Love how they look with my freshly painted lamp.

The fabric is Waverly Lovely Lattice in Lagoon.  I purchased it from www.fabric.com.  It’s a Sun N Shade fabric which I’ve never tried but I wanted them to be easy to wipe up especially since this room gets tons of kid traffic.

I used Janell’s drapery tutorial at Isabella and Max rooms.  But I made my hem at the bottom REALLY big, like 10 inches so when the military moves us again and we have higher ceilings I can just unpick and hem again instead of needing new drapes.  I lined them with a drop cloth.

Love!  Love even more that they are finished.  Sewing drapes takes FOR-E-VER and ever.

    >Lovely drapes, you did a terrific job. I have 3 rooms of drapes to complete, and I know what ya mean about a lot of sewing. Just going around all 4 sides is boring sewing, but rewarding when they are hung and look fabulous. Thanks for sharing:)

    >Hi, first-time visitor here! Those drapes look fabulous and I'm feeling inspired to DIY some of my own. Unfortunately I do not own a sewing machine… I should remedy that situation. Haha. Love the fabric you chose! I'll have to check out fabrics.com myself.

    >These drapes are beautiful! And I love the idea behind the deep hems. Does the drop cloth work well for blocking out light? I should do this in my bedroom! I'd love to have you link this to my VIP party today! http://designergarden.blogspot.com/2011/03/vip-party-9.html

    >you did a fabulous job! I recently posted about drapes on my blog, and had to laugh when you said that you left the hem on yours long so that when the military moves you, you won't have to buy new drapes. We are due to be posted next year, and will be leaving the drapes, so instead of buying new ones, I figured out a way to reuse the ones that were already hanging! made me smile! have a lovely weekend!
